"We must learn to coexist with nature, rather than dominate it. " Eugenie Clark (1922–2015) was a groundbreaking Japanese American marine biologist whose pioneering research transformed the world’s understanding of sharks and fish. Known as “The Shark Lady,” she founded the Cape Haze Marine Laboratory in 1955 and devoted her life to dispelling myths about shark aggression and promoting marine conservation. Over the course of her remarkable career, she conducted seventy-two submersible dives, with her final dive at the age of ninety-two.
